The ILX Hybrid is powered by an ultra-efficient 1.5-liter i-VTEC 4-cylinder engine and electric motor, producing a combined 111 horsepower while paired to a continuously variable transmission. 

  • The ILX Hybrid delivers an EPA Estimated Fuel Economy of 39/38/38* mpg city/highway/combined.
  • The ILX Hybrid uses a 2-stage i-VTEC valve control system that enables the cylinders to be idled under certain conditions, allowing the electric motor to power the vehicle in some lower-speed cruising situation.
  • Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) helps the engine and electric motor operate in the most efficient range, maximizing fuel efficiency. This also delivers excellent low-end acceleration matched with relaxed low-rpm cruising, while permitting greater efficiency during regenerative braking (which allows the car to charge its battery while it is decelerating, regardless if your foot is on the brake or not).
  • To save weight for enhanced fuel efficiency, the ILX Hybrid comes with a tire sealant kit and inflator kit.
  • The Charge/Assist Gauge, which is located to the left of the tachometer and replaces the water temperature gauge found on other ILX models. On the assist side of the gauge, the needle shows the degree to which the electric motor is assisting the engine. Yet, on the charge side, the needle shows the degree to which the battery is being charged.
  • The ECON Button feature increases fuel efficiency by making the throttle response smoother and up shifts sooner. This will help you save gas money!
  • The Hybrid comes complete with a Lithium-Ion Battery Pack.  This compact battery technology has approximately twice the energy density and about four times the output density of the previous nickel-metal hydride batteries.
  • The Fuel Economy Indicator (which is located on the MID Display) is designed specifically for the Acura Hybrid System, the fuel economy indicator screen with a green spherical display helps teach drivers how to drive more fuel-efficiently.
  • Your own personal Eco Score appears on the MID each time the ignition is turned off. Lifetime points increase or decrease through three stages, depending on your driving style. This feature shows you how fuel efficiently you have been driving.
  • The Auto Idle Stop Button is used to maximize fuel efficiency, as well.  The car will shut off when your vehicle comes to a complete stop, and will automatically turn back on when your foot is removed from the brake or pressure is applied to the accelerator.
  • Exclusive ILX Hybrid features also include: trunk spoiler, fog lights, and chrome accent for lower front trim.

Safety comes standard

The ILX is equipped with a sophisticated six-airbag system, which includes two front and two front side airbags, and two side curtain airbags with coverage for the front and outboard rear seats. Advanced sensors and inflator systems are designed so that the airbags can deploy at the right time with the appropriate force.

  • The front airbags are equipped with two-stage, multiple-threshold inflators. One or both airbags will be deployed only in the event of a sufficient frontal impact. If deployed, these airbags are capable of being inflated at different rates depending on crash severity, seat belt usage and/or other factors. Frontal airbags are designed to supplement the seat belts to help reduce the likelihood of head and upper body injuries in frontal crashes.
  • Sensors in the front passenger seat determine if it is empty or if the passenger is too small for the passenger's front airbag to deploy safely, and disengage the front passenger's front airbag, if necessary.
  • The Occupant Position Detection System (OPDS) uses sensors in the front passenger seatback to determine the height and position of the passenger and will deactivate the side airbag if a child or small-statured adult leans into the side airbag deployment path.
  • In a side impact, side curtain airbags deploy downward from just above the doorframes on the impacted side to help protect both front and outboard rear seat occupants.
